AutoVideoStudio FAQ

What does AutoVideoStudio do?
You type a topic. It researches it, writes a script that cites its sources, checks every claim, records a voiceover, finds licensed footage, edits for viewer retention and renders a finished YouTube video with captions, thumbnails, chapters and Shorts.
Is AutoVideoStudio free?
Yes. Research, script AI, fact-check, footage, editing, rendering, thumbnails and Shorts are free. When paid outside engines (such as natural AI voices) arrive, you will pay exactly what they cost us, with no markup.
What does a video cost me?
Today: $0. Videos use your own recorded narration or the free placeholder voice. Natural AI voices are coming soon at cost, about $0.03 per finished minute. Each video shows its cost line by line.
Am I charged when a render fails?
No. Only finished renders are counted, and re-renders after you edit the script or swap a shot are free.
How long can a video be?
1 to 60 minutes, in 16:9, 9:16 or 1:1.
How does the fact-check work?
Every sentence with a number or a name is treated as a claim and matched against the source it cites. A wrong number or a claim not found in the sources pauses the render until you edit the line or confirm you checked it.
Where does the footage come from?
Wikimedia Commons (public domain, CC0, CC BY, CC BY-SA only), then our own CC0 motion library, and you can upload your own clips. Every file is logged with its licence and a SHA-256 hash. Pexels, Pixabay, Storyblocks and AI images are coming soon.
Will my video get a copyright claim?
We only use licences that allow commercial reuse, reject non-commercial and no-derivative files, credit CC BY authors in the description, and generate the music, so Content ID has nothing to match. The ledger shows the licence of every file.
Which voices can I use?
Today: upload a recording of your own narration (it is cut to the script automatically), or draft with a free robotic placeholder voice. Natural AI voices and consented voice clones are coming soon.
Can I edit the video?
Yes. Edit the script and re-render only what changed, swap any shot in the scene editor (each shot shows how well it matches the narration), upload your own clips, or type a change into the chat editor.
Does it make YouTube Shorts?
Yes. It picks the strongest 15–58 second stretches and re-cuts them vertical with word-by-word captions.
Can it upload to YouTube?
Not directly yet: download the MP4, thumbnails and the ready title, description, chapters and tags, and upload them. Direct private or scheduled upload to your channel is coming soon.
Which languages are supported?
English today. Indian-language narration and dubbing are built but not switched on yet.
Can I keep my channel's style?
Yes. Paste your own titles or a script you like into a brand kit; new scripts follow your hook style and sentence length. Brand kits also hold colours, caption style, font, music mood and a logo.
Can I run a channel on autopilot?
Series take a queue of topics and a cadence (daily, 3× a week or weekly) and make each video on schedule, each with a different storytelling angle so the channel does not look mass-produced. Automatic upload is coming soon.
Is there an API?
Yes. POST /api/v1/videos with a workspace API key creates a video; GET returns its status, files, fact-check result and cost per minute.
Can my team use it?
Yes. Workspaces have owner, admin, editor and viewer roles and share brand kits and voices.
Which AI writes the script?
Our own model on Surge's servers in Bengaluru. A commercial model (Claude) is used only as a fallback if ours is down.
How is AutoVideoStudio different from VidRush?
VidRush costs $1.56–$2.20 per finished minute, has no free plan, and charges for failed renders. We are free, check every claim against sources, log every licence and cut Shorts.
Who makes it?
Surge Software Solutions Private Limited, Bengaluru, India. Write to [email protected] or use “Talk to a person” in the chat.
